Monks need Love!!
I have ran through this game with my Ranger/Monk & had a great time, but since I started my Monk/Necro I have found some disturbing results. People are just plain mean to monks, I see them everywhere I go wanting Healers! Need Monks, then when you go with them you get screamed at & insulted the whole time because they agrro'ed 15 enemies & you couldn't keep them all alive. One guy is telling me I better get to working or he will kick my "butt" himself............now that pissed me off since I had ran low on energy after a huge fight & he ran right in to the next bunch with no time to recharge. I love gaming & I usually ignore those rageing few that always cry, but the difference between being a Ranger & Monk is disturbing.
Next time your in a mission with a monk that is working his butt off, tell him thanks & show him the love!!!

Exactly! I think monks need a whole lot mroe respect than they are getting now. I don't know if some of u have played as a monk before, but before you go screamin about how ur monk sucks you might want to try it yourself.

I tend avoid those, but there's also ' hidden' morons that plays like crap and treats monks like crap, but they go " group is looking for a monk" politely and like they're experienced.

if ppl treat you like **** when youre dooing ure job, then ether tell them how to play, or just tell them to back off or youll leave. as a healer you got that power.
ive never had any complaints, ever. rather the opposite.
i think uve had some bad luck and met the wrong ppl.

can an admin merge this thead with the "sick and tired of monk abuse" thread? it seems to be exacly the same.
regarding the topic of the post. the way i do things is i shut up and heal. if the people are dumb enough to get themselves killed, then i let them. if the people are dumb enough to get themselves killed again, then i let them again. and if they are dumb enough to leave after i let them die, then i'll go on and finish the mission without them.
of course i'll heal them as best as i can, but it doesn't really work when i spam "I have 3 out of 45 energy!" and they continue on as if i was just yelling.
its like yelling "my left arm is on fire!" to a fireman and having him ignore you because he thinks you are fireproof.

I'm gonna use a sports analogy on this one. Monks are like the quaterback of a football team. Sure, other team members contribute just as much on a football team, but when something bad happens, who gets blamed? The QB. Except football players don't say, "GJ ST00PID N00B!!1one!1" That's just one of the things you are going to have to handle if you create a monk. *Inspired to create a monk named Joe Montana....*

When I play healer, which I occasionally have to (have you ever seen "LF Smiter!"?), when people are bastards, I just let them die, and wait a good while before rezing them. If the whole team is full of them, I go with them near the end of the map, then let them die and ditch the group after lecturing them a bit. Yeah. It's evil. I don't care. I'm a jackass by nature, they're just giving me an excuse to bring it out.

I wish my Monk could find love, but I haven't been very successful finding girl Monks. At first, I found these two hotties, Alesia and Lina, but I soon found out that they...uh..don't really say anything. I'm not having much success with the other girls that I've found. Everytime I try to /makeout, it tells me that I can't. I can't figure out a way to make it work, so the girl Monks get bored and leave. I'm beginning to think that my Monk will never find love in this game, even though he needs it so badly.

i hear the dwarven women are hawt for monks. on a side note, it would certainly add to the whines and rants if everyone had to play monk primary first to unlock the other classes as primaries. do you think a guild called 'beach and moon' would evade the banstick?

I have not noticed any particular hatred towards monks. If there is, though, I honestly cannot understand it. Everyone needs a monk.
One thing I will say, though. I have noticed a lot of monks (and this is especially true in the Temple of Ages) being very arrogant and obnoxious. Because they are needed, they think that they are more important than everyone else. So this is not one-sided. I think both sides need to relax, calm down, and remember that it's just a game.

Perhaps these monks that are giving you trouble are just trying to kill bad attidudes. I have no problem telling someone when they are a being a fool and risking the lives of the party. This is because going into the UW or Fissure and completing the quests takes TIME. Time is worth more to me than anything else in my life. If I am in aparty that is wasting my time, I tell them so. If they refuse to learn the proper tactics and strategies to become successful, I leave. Does that make me arrogant? Maybe, but it also means I have 732,492 XP. I didn't get there by sucking mud, or by staying in parties that cannot work as a team. If you are a good player, I will welcome into my party. If not, I try to help you become a better play. What's wrong with that?

Haha... I don't care about bad attitudes. You can whine and moan all you want, but when it comes down to it, your life is in my hands, and I may or may not decide to drop you. If you're a total idiot, I can find a better party without any trouble because I am in such high demand. "Hey! Lets charge into that group of 3,000,000 enemies shortly after a battle that drained all our healer's mana! weee" ... ... ... ... ... "Hey! WTF?! You Suck! Why did we die!? Waaa waaa waaa..."

how about this, how about going into one of those games that say "NEED MORE MONKS!!!" and just let them die and laugh all the while they're screaming at you.
